Security guards's full & final settlement has been done, but he left the company by locking the quarter with his own lock and key, and now saying that he has stiches on his stomach so he will not be able to come for a week, when called him after a week he is saying stiches are yet to be opened, so he won't be able to come for another week, he is saying their is gold ring and precious assets inside the quarter. what should we do ?

Dear Rithveek,
After termination of contract of employment, the relationship, if any that subsists between the erstwhile employer and the ex-employee who still holds the possession of the official quarters allotted to him earlier would be that of a landlord and tenant only. So the only remedy available to the employer in such a situation is approaching Civil Court for eviction. But as a prelude to such legal action, the employer has to give some reasonable time to the ex-employee to vacate the house by sending a notice of eviction by registered post or any other appropriate means.
