Hello All,today i face a difference situation : on last week I was on factory round that day and saw a security guard to chewing tobacco at main gate so that I was terminate that guard immediately & inform to his field officer that replace that guard but he i.e.field officer does not take it seriously so that today call him again he said that his owner of Security Agencies will come today so im angry on him and say that is your owner will do it or what ? so he also angry and come with that socalled owner & that person laudly speak with me in office....my time was loss with that stupid people...so im irritated & want your suggestion on it...pls guide what should i do now?pls reply plsss....

The guard comes from a culture and surroundings where chewing of tobacco is common.
Take an advisory role and insist that tobacco chewing is injurious to health and pollutes the area by spitting and throwing plastic covers etc.
Talk to owner and tell him that factory rules do not permit smoking/chewing tobacco etc and guards should be sensitised to this requirement.
First time you see such a thing,there is no need to terminate.

Chewing tobacco, spitting, smoking are common problems in India.We need to adopt a counselling approach.Have bold posters at appropriate places.
Vendors during selection process itself should be sensitised about these policies in the factory area.
During supervisory rounds,meetigs this point should be noted and spoken about.
After serious efforts are made, then only defaulters need to be punished.
