We have 08 paid holidays ( Annual Holiday Calendar ) for our Company
So there was Ganesh Chathurthi as Holiday we company members got paid holiday for this day
1)Does it obligatory for Engineering Company - Under Factory Act in Pune - Maharashtra to give paid holiday to contract workers in our company?
2)How much paid holidays should be there in Annual Holiday Calendar for Engineering Company - Under Factory Act in Pune - Maharashtra?
3) In case of security guards they have to work 24*7 so what is principal employer i.e. our companies liability to provide them paid holiday?

In India we have the following compulsory paid holidays. Rest of the holidays are tobe finalised by the Estt. may be in consultation with the admn. or the Union as the case may be.1.Republic day2.Dr.Ambedkar's birthday3.Independence day]4.Mahatmaji's birthday.The days and practice will vary from Estt. to Estt. and place to place. However in finalising thelist of holidays one has to take note of gazetted list of holidays of State & Central Govt. to bein line with them. There are local holidays which are necessary to accomodate local needs andof course, local hartals and bundhs which strictly not allowed to be listed my friend.kumar.s.Bg.

You need to check with Maharashtra shop & establishment act. To the best of my knowledge you need to follow 8 Hrs 26 days work regime.
In case the person is on contract and you wish for him to work extra you need to pay him overtime @ min wage per day/8
Also for every 20 days worked you get a paid holiday. You need to provide them with SL & CL but no PL.
The same applies to security guards.
In case you call them on their weekly day off you need to pay them double the wages.
Also most organizations have 10 days in a year off as per the Gazetted and restricted holidays list.
If your work tends to suffer with a holiday like this you can use the Compensatory off mode.
And please do understand that Factories Act is not applicable here as they are contract labors. So CLRA Act is applicable with Shop & Establishment.
