HR professional many times not able to implement very good initiatives which can solve many problem like attrition, employee engagement, employee productivity because of the gap mentioned in article. I am student yet so i may not have much of an experience on it.....
What the artical says is the reality of many companies, but i think this happening because, the type of development the artical is conveying happens only the CEO or the HR person themselves are not able to balance the skill development factor & the profit making factor.
I think balance of both the intention of an over-all development & generating profit should be handle very cleverly......
Until & unless a person's life or the life of people working in the org. is not balanced internally & externally...... total satisfaction is along way to go.
The artical is really very nice, I'l try & put up in collage.....

It is very difficult to convince the higher authority to take some mutual agreed Hr initiatives untill and unless HR Head had given the positive and favorable outcomes i.e. reduced attrition rate, suitable recruitments and selections from his side in his previous performance record to the company. So it's tough for Hr Head to come alongwith the higher authority untill he had proven to be listened to or convincing.

Though this is true. I fail to understand, isn’t training a short term gain too. If the right talent is groomed, on which we have already invested ( recruitment cost + salary till date) then he will perform better. I also believe that now HR professionals need to be good in Marketing as well. If the cause is right, and there is a belief , then I am sure that the concept can be sold. Yes, no doubt that the decision- maker is never the HR
