hi there people I'll be reporting Training Policy this week
I wanted to know the following:
What is Training Policy?
Is Training Policy different with Training design?
if yes then is training policy part of training implementation or training design?
What is the difference between training policy and training design?
what does a training policy consists?
Guidelines in making Training Policy
Difference between company training policy and staff training policy
Is staff training policy the same with trainee/participant policy?
Is there a training policy in every country?(such as U.S. Training Policy Handbook)
Do you have a sample of a training policy?
Your help is gladly appreciated.

It would appear from your posting that your company does not have a training policy.

The training policy would detail what types of training the staff in your organisation require, who is entitled to training, and at what stages of their career progression etc. It may set out mandatory training for various reasons including health and saftey. It may also include budget allocations for training, policies on whether you use in-house or external trainers, etc etc.

Seems like your first task will be to formulate a company wide training policy.

Training design is the design of training courses to meet particular outcomes. For example you can design a training course to instruct new employees on how to use a particular machine in a factory.

Training design, training implementation, training needs analysis or assessment, training delivery, training effectiveness measures etc are all things that you can include in your training policy.

@aussiejohn thank you for your answer. I'm still an HR student so I really have no idea plus we don't have reference 'coz our school does not require us to have book for our professor believe one reference is not enough reference.
I did what you told but then all i saw was the procedure on how to make a training policy- contents of training policy. So I take the initiative to just post another discussion.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ANSWER THOUGH IT REALLY HELPED ME A LOT

I would agree that "one reference is not enough reference". On any subject, not just training or HR or anything else, you should read widely and seek many ideas, views and opinions.
Your college library surely would have books that you can refer to on this subject and your professor or tutor can point you in the right direction for more resources for your research.
Apart from the wealth of material already posted here on CiteHR by many HR practitioners, there is also Google and other search engines you can use to find even more material.

@sherilim08- Let me add my bit, perception to your search.
Training policy is a standing answer to a recurring question in Training. (Eg, Should we give snacks in between training, policy may say if it is more than two hours , we can have in between...)
Training design is what we do in paper(or computer) before we do the training actually.
Generally we have training policy for that organization or group.
Training policy gives a general guideline -like when to go for external trainer and when to go for internal, max duration .....
Hope I have helped you by giving my perspectives, which I warn is VERY VERY SUBJECTIVE. I just have ten years expo in Training.
Please gather AS MANY PERSPECTIVES AS POSSIBLE .
Happy learning !
