i completed my MBA HRM in 2011 since then i haven't worked anywhere.i gave 3-4 interviews but got rejected by the company. Although i received many calls and mails from the company for the interview but my problem is whenever i got a call for the interview i had some fear of facing the interview and becoz of this i just don't attend the interview and also always make excuses and hide myself from being get interviewed.
my another problem is that i dont want to go for the job that includes Recruitment becoz i have a fear of talking people over the phone and convince them,so i am always looking for the job that should not contain calling part and have limited interaction with other people.please can someone suggest me what should i do in this situations as i have wasted so much of time now i just don't understand where should i go and what to do.......how should i start my career in HR Field.

Dear Friend,
Don't be afraid of facing interviews and other people, as interview is the only way for getting a job and the field of HR is itself related to people. So, build-up confidence inside you and ready to face every thing. Try to be more social, it will help you a lot.

dear Friend,
You may not answerting the question in the interview at the righ sense.
ex:
do you have brothers or sisters abroad,
if you say \"yes\"
A locally opeting company may reject you, because it may fear that you leave the job after some time,
did you understand the logic behind this.
think and answer the questions in same way the interviewer expecting from you.
I am not HR person, But I teach HRM

Hi,
You say you have completed your MBA in 2011 & you haven't worked anywhere. That's a very long time gap. Other than the suggestions given by members, may I add a few points :-
a) I think you need to attend a counselling or seminar session for Confidence Building. That will form the basis of getting over your basic reasoning for fear. And practise, at home, at work, giving speeches, record your speech, listen to it. You will begin to notice whether you sound more confident from day 01.
b) Secondly, speak to maybe an elder or someone from your college or group who can teach you Interview Handling skills or alternate is again, join a course. Again team up with someone who will help you practise, record your Interview role play, hear how you sound and don't be shy to ask someone to correct you.
c) And Thirdly, you are just starting off and cant afford to be choosy of what you do. Initially start giving interviews at small firms like a proprietorship, get a job, learn skills, doesn't matter whether its recruitment/hr/admin. Just start off somewhere, gain a year's experience and then you can move to better altitude, larger organisation, more salary, etc. By then you would have gained confidence and experience and the Skills essential to handle a Job other than recruitment.
Most importantly, Don't procrastinate. Start making use of your HRM course by first - Making a to do of the steps you need to take to build from Pt a to c. and then give a deadline and start asap. Am sure we members can help if you tell us your daily feedback or you may seek out a member who you think can help guide your progress.
Best of Luck!
