Dear All, I am working in a Start-Up based in Mumbai. I would like to know regarding Marriage Leaves. One of the employee is getting married in Nov 2017. We have given 30 leaves to the employees divided into 11 public holidays and 19 holidays they can take it the way they like. She wants leave for one month without paycut. In this situation what will be the best option to take. I would like to know do any Start-ups or any companies give 1 month Holiday for marriage without paycut???

Hi Kena,
Yes in case of marriage as it is very special occasions in everyone's life ,company will consider and provide leave even for 1 month without LOP(loss of pay). But its purely management decision.
in such cases, take this issue has high priority to management and let them decide how many they can give her.
As u have mentioned employees are entitled for 30 days leaves in an year, she is eligible to avail it.
But all her leaves will be lapsed.next time if she wants leaves, it will be loss of pay.
Incase if she leaves organisation after few months , it will be a loss to company.

In addition tpo above info,
kena as HR of a company, i would strongly recommend you to have leave policy to be maintained ,which streamlines everything, instead of giving liberty for employees to choose 19 days as they want.
As it is start up,please ensure you make all rules in the beginning itself.
