Hai dear seniors,
I am working with a consultancy firm since 2 years but recently my boss was shifted to the other company. It is a limited company. But they designated me as HR – Officer instead of HR- Executive what I was with the consultancy firm.
So, I was confused because I was shifted from Executive level to Officer level.
Can anyone clarify the same.

Dear Varalaxmi,

Congratulation for getting new opportunities as well as new responsibilities in new organisation.

In many company designation matters at initial level or while coding it in C.V for interviews, ultimate thing is the responsibilities performed by you, initiatives taken by you, continual and increasing performance level time by time ,decision making capabilities, issues resolving methods adopted by you and so on.

different companies designate various profiles, designation and according to their policy they allot the work or authorities and responsibilities to their employees.

If you have gained higher salary jumps, higher authorities and lesser designation then it cant be seen as an issue.

If above points is not being increased and even your profile or designation has been decreased then you must think seriously about this matter, other wise its not a big issue.

Best Wishes./

Dear Varalaxmi,
Let me know your present job profile, company name etc.
Asking for doing other works or in different department by employer is not a new matter, it depends that if it is said to upgrade employees knowledge or to upgrade employees skill in multi departments then it is a good thing infact, or secondly if company is facing some problem in those particular department due to absent ism etc then also it may be an opportunity for you to learn new things.
And finaly if employer is shifting you to other department only to utilise companies cost and if you are not feeling comfortable ,convey them that you are not comfortable in such profile, my profile is different.
but put your points in very humble manners and professionally.
Hope they will understand.
Best Wishes.

Apart from what Manish has answered to your query, also check the appointment clause whether it is written that you may be transferred from one location to other as well as from one job to the other as per the company's need.
