Dear
Vision is the art of seeing things invisible(What to reach).Mission is your activities that make it visible.(How to reach)
Vision is like dream and mission is like action to reach that dream.
Vision is like having new eyes and mission is having new hands!
Vision is where you want to reach and mission is how you want to reach.

A mission statement concerns what an organization is all about.
A vision statement is what the organization wants to become.
A mission statement answers three key questions:
What do we do?
For whom do we do it?
What is the benefit?
A vision statement, on the other hand, describes how the future will look if the organization achieves its mission. A mission statement gives the overall purpose of an organization, while a vision statement describes a picture of the "preferred future." A mission statement explains what the organization does, for whom and the benefit. A vision statement, on the other hand, describes how the future will look if the organization achieves its mission.
Examples:
Centers for Disease Control Mission To promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability Vision Healthy People in a Healthy World

Vision
What organization want to become in future. - LONG TERM GOAL of the organisation
Mission
What is the purpose of the existence of the organization. - SHORT TERM TARGET/ACHIEVEMENT.
this can be measured by objectives/targets and planned by the startegic activities.

difference between vision and mission
Vision is a long term dream and mission represent the present profile of a company.mission to whom the comp. is targeting, what it is producing and how the compny is working? Both are top level planning strategy.
example- Mission of ITS college Gr.Noida is to provide six sigma quality education to all M.Tec, MBA and MCA students and vision is to become the no.1 college arround the world in place of forming top managers and software engineers arroun the world.
ex.2 Mission of TATA moters is to create chepest and best technological public cars, and vission is to been the no 1 brand arroun the world in the field of manfacturing best public cars.
thanks n regrds
