I found some of hr generalist take a recruiting role in our company.I think HR ops experience can add value but i personally think compared with people with recruiting background, they may be weaker. However,i don't know.Could any senior tell us more regarding this kind of question? How can we rotate in our role as HR?Is it very hard in IT industry?

Hi Lathasri,

SAP HR is nothing but an orientation in the HR module in SAP. If one does a course in SAP HR, he/she may qualify for a Functional Lead/Consultant in SAP HR.

That is to say that you can now add value to a SAP HR module implementation in a Company, assess functional requirements in HR, contribute to improvement in the module addons or even SAP HR support.

In very simple terms, it is only to say that you have learnt the functionalities of HR software of SAP and can get a job in a software/IT firm with SAP HR exposure.

Not too many good HR professionals would like to make a career in this since it is a very limited perspective of the total generalist HR function. Also SAP HR professionals are mostly entry-level or at the most, mid-level HR people; not seniors in HR.

For the immediate career, it is sort of OK, but I think, it is better to progress in generalist HR function and gather multiple and practical experience in HR to make a serious career.

These are my views based on long experience as VP-HR.
