Dear All,
I am working on Post Maternity Benefits for female employee. As we all aware most of the company is giving only 12 weeks leave for Maternity Leave but after coming back to office, they dont have any option left except resignation and reason behind this we dont have work from home or flexible hours policy to take care of the child. We don't have Craech facility too.
That's the reason for retention, I would like to add WFH or Flexible hours which can give benefit to the female employee after returning from the Mat leave.
I would like to share your thoughts and some points on the same.
Regards

Good effort Ruchika, I believe work at home is the best option, bt in the absense of this... they can give flexible hours or coming on alternate days option.......

Hi! Ruchika
As in our company we give them work from home for atleast 2 - 3 months post delivery depending on the doctors advise certificate they have submitted with the company. If they do not require WFH we give then Flexi timing but they need to complete atleast 8 hrs per day.
Apart from this all the infrastructure required to work from home is also given by the company.
We also allow them to bring their child to office if some day required.

Hi,
In our org we do give option to female employees to either take an extra 1 month of lOP or she can join us half time for some time.
but then the point is that this provision is helpful for 1 month or so post that one has to get back to normal routine. (we have flexi hrs) Though i personally feel that the idea of creche is good if only ur org has good num of females who prefer it, space for the same as the same shudnt spoil office decorum + budget (impt factor)
Another reason for resig. can be that females then find it hard to get into the mainstream again... as in their absence too work was delegated.. so when we talk of benefits. steps shud be taken to ensure that she settles well into both office n personal life.

Dear
Your suggestions on working from Home may be true for white collar but not blue collar.
These days we see a situation where recruitment of married women is not favored.
The solution will be post joining women should have a secure situation at home for taking care of the baby.
