Hi all !
This is a wonderful forum filled with lot of energy, knowledge-sharing and great advice/guidance on offer.
Cannot be a better place where i can seek some suggestions and guidance on the following.
1. More and more HR is playing a vital role in business strategy.
Can someone please suggest a project on this and highlight its importance
2. I would really appreciate if someone can upload/link a HR project for reference. This could prove to be of great help and guidance for not just me..but everyone can gain a lot out of this.
3. Career progression of an IT recruiter. In what ways a recruiter can broaden skills, ways to grow and future scope?
Thanks
Hari.

:D Dear Hari,

It would be nice to know your background and interests before giving a suggestion. HR is a really big domain and for project, if you take my suggestion, select a small frindge area and do comprehensive work on it rather than trying to touch a bigger area ... it often ends up in mess.

 Select a small area of your interest in which you know you will be able to handle it, get data and samples, information, support and time. Do good homework and prepare yourself.

Please fel free to talk to me regarding your project. I would definitely try to be of help ..

Regarding IT recruiter career prospects .. I would advise to take a test. Just take any Career suppliment today and compare it with an earlier date, you will see the difference. The IT sector is moving in boom again, and this time its coupled with ITeS and similar recruiting potential. The future seems bright. To broaden your skillsets you should have the understanding of IT field, know the technologies and hot skills in demand, the transitions and also the companies who recruit manpower, what is the movement of human capital and the various sources. It wont help if you cannot answer the difference between J2EE and Core JAVA, Siebel or JDE .. its not obviously required to be an expert either.

To keep in nutshell - break the term 'IT Recruiter' into two parts. 1. IT and 2. Recruiter .. and you are on your way !

Best of luck.

thesysthink,
Thanks for your ideas.
Agree it wud be wise to select a small area and do a comprehensive job in that.
Can someone help me understand how a HR strategy has an impact in business performance and ROI?
Also what specific responsibilities a performance management or knowledge management person handles?
Finally HR being a big ocean, how does one jump ship to different specific roles in HR..like in staffing, performance mgmt, change management etc unlike a common generalistic one? what is the future scope in indian market in terms of non-generalistic HR
Thanks
Hari.
