Hello, This should be like this : If organisation provide salary for full day as per (Mon- Fri) than this will be count as full day absent,or else for half day. Thanks

Hi INDU
It depends the Leave Policy of your ORGANIZATION. In general half day working is treated as full day working and any leave taken or absence from duty is treated as full day leave i.e. Absence one day.

As your organisation pay full day salary for half day work on Saturday obviously Adsense for Saturday will be treated as full day .If your organisation pay half day salary for half day working on Saturday then leave on Saturday must be treated half day

In my opinion, it should be considered as full day as the working hours for those 2 days are limited to half day. If some one comes for attending duty is considered as full day presence then not attending duty should be considered as full day absence.
However it depends on the organization and logic differs. I have worked in such organization, and rules though clarified as full day leave, still it was a practice of taking half day leave by all including top officials.

Whatever be the policy of the organisation, the base for deciding whether a leave on a half day working should be considered as full day leave or half day leave is nothing but how you consider the day for payment of salary.Obviously, if for that half day full day salary is paid nothing will prevent you to mark absent for full day or leave for full day if any one remains leave on that half day.

Hello Indu,
All the fraternity members have given the correct answer to your query, but I see total logic in Madhu's post. Let me explain.
Your organization is working for half-a-day on 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month. Now, if there is somebody who is remaining absent on either of these days, then the answer to whether this absence should be considered as full-day / half-day absence depends upon the type of employment this employee has with the organization. What kind of employee is he? Is he paid for hourly, daily or monthly basis ?
#If hourly basis employees remain absent on 1st & 3rd Saturdays, then obviously they'll lose salary (wages) for half a day (or for those many number of hours for which they were supposed to work on Saturday).
#For employees on daily wages, you need to check what they get (rather what your organization pays) for working on these saturday's. Accordingly, they stand to loses the salary for remaining absent of those Satudays.
#However, those on monthly basis (irrespective of whether it's a half-day working / full-day working) gets paid for the full month. So, any absence on Saturday's should be considered as "full-day" absent.
Cheers,
A.B.

Dear Ms Indu
I completely agree with Ms Madhu and AB. When you are paying Fullday salary for these Half day working, its completely logical to deduct full day's Leave for not coming for these half days.

My suggestion here is if we get full day salary for these half working days then taking leave without approval is termed as Absent so salary should be deducted as for whole one day but not in case of approved leave.

Yes
The answer is itself in your question only. Company allowed all employees a half day of satur day..
The so called person availed a half of on that particular day..
So it is obviously half day leave only pls.

If he is eligible authorised leave ask him to apply later....unauthorized absence is a bad symptom of performance of any employee...if only exception is sudden medical cause.
Ask him to apply full day....then verify your factory norms...usually prefer condusive approach of making it as half day leave...it will give a lot of grateful ness from employee side and u can derive extra performance from that employee.it is another hr technic.
