Dear all,
I am new here & also newly Married girl I am working in a pvt ltd. company since from 5 years & like to know about the maternity rules for me (in pvt ltd. company) like salary, basic or gross?
how many days leave paid leave?
how many days unpaid leave?
can company terminate my services during my maternity leave or after finish maternity??
I am totally confuse for all this please help me out & please let me know if there is any official site for rules regulation about maternity benefit ?

It is advisable to read the MB Act, which is avail on net free of cost, kindly google it out. With regards to your query please find below Maternity Benefits in nutshell

• Leave with average pay for six weeks before the delivery.

• Leave with average pay for six weeks after the delivery.

• A medical bonus of Rs.25 if the employer does not provide free medical care to the woman.

• An additional leave with pay up to one month if the woman shows proof of illness due to the pregnancy, delivery, miscarriage, or premature birth.

• In case of miscarriage, six weeks leave with average pay from the date of miscarriage.

• Light work for ten weeks (six weeks plus one month) before the date of her expected delivery, if she asks for it.

• Two nursing breaks in the course of her daily work until the child is 15 months old.

• No discharge or dismissal while she is on maternity leave.

• No change to her disadvantage in any of the conditions of her employment while on maternity leave.

• Pregnant women discharged or dismissed may still claim maternity benefit from the employer. Exception : Women dismissed for gross misconduct lose their right under the Act for Maternity Benefit

You have not mentioned whether the company/unit in which you are working is covered under ESI Act, 1948. If so, whether you are also covered as an insured woman?. If so, you will be entitled for Maternity Benefits as laid down under ESI Act, 1948.
