Hi,
Can you plz tell if its :
1. five days or six days working??
2. Manufacturing or Non manufacturing unit?
3. Ladies are working in your organisation or not??
4. Companies is proving transport facility or not???
See for ladies its very difficult to work and sustain/continue in these hard hours. its almost 9 hours after deducting lunch timings. If your office will last till 7:30pm how will the ladies commute... You have to keep this in mind before making any policy. If Co. transport is there then also you have to consider this...
If its five days then i dont think there should have been any problem to follow but make it 7:00pm not 7:30pm its really too long and the cause will actually be beard by people at lower level where all these thing are observed.
Over all, its not good or preferred. May be employee turnover will increase after all, they also have to give time to their families.
Plz suggest your management that think once again.....

9 hours working will increase turnover and demotivation., such long working hours wil also decrease the efficiency of the employees.
Also it is not as per laws.
Think and then act. and do post your final decision.

hi here answere regarding ur query if u r working in office to regarding overtimethe law is settled that the normal working hour for a day is 9 hrs and in a week it should not exceed 48 hrs n if u work more than normal working hour than overtime at the rate of double wages for the time workd be paid by the employer morover there is provision for a spred over in which employer can extend working hour to 1and 1/2 hour that comes 10and 1/2hrs in a day but in this case too the total working hours of the employee in aweek should not go beyond 48 hrs either if it goes beyong than the extra time work comes under overtime and the employee can claime overtime wages double than the normal rate of wages for work done in a hour

Hi,
As per shop & Establishment Act whether it be of any state i think the genral provisions are same .The working hours for a day are only maximum 9 hours with one hours lunch break and for a week it is 48 hours and if any employee works more than 9 hours in a day and 48 hours in a week then the employer shall liable to pay overtime wages that will be double the amount of normal wages it's clear position in law but these corporate houses or MNC's are not following laws properly they think these law/acts are scrap papers. So every employee should keeps his records that at what time he intered and what time left and it should signed by his manager. Then easily can claim for overtime through labour department/labour court.
