Hi KVRKHRM
Interesting question. However I could suggest you the following.
1 Yahoo groups
2 Orkut communities
3 Forwarded mails (where you can get the email id of few perons) This can itself become a potential database over a period of time.
4 There are databases you get in the market where you have contacts of say 10,000 email ids.
5 Resume Drop boxes at ATM counters, Malls etc where you can pool potential resumes of candidates
6 Advertisement hoardings in important places signalling the email of your company.
And the list can go on and on...
Thanks

Dear KVRKHRM,
I take care of all IT recruitment in my company. I suggest you to join some yahoo job related and other groups like jobsahead etc. Over there you can find many resumes and post your requirements as well. From those candidates you can have references of their colleagues.

Sandeep

HI KVRKHRM
Head Hunting is the right way coz when portals where not their recrutment was done through head hunting. but in present days we have yahoo groups or any other groups which is pure meant for jobs where all come together who are in need of jobs or sharing of knowledge. Try their once.

Hi,
You can try googling which can get you some results. You can also try posting your needs on message boards, or user groups ( but these are usually very focussed and hence you need to be careful about selecting the right UG). There are also quite a few smaller portals which offer free resumes search, (these may be pretty small).

Hi,
I am working in a recruitment firm where I can't go for Daily newspaper ads. as per my clients requirements sometimes I can't get profiles from portals and references also doesn't work. At this moment, what steps I can take to fullfill the requirement.

Hi Navaneeth, It was interesting to know that you are not recommending Naukri or Monster. Why you think that these are not good resources for IT recruitment. Cheers! Lalit
