Hi All,
I have done PGD-IR&PM (Part Time) & the duration of the course was 1yr. Now, i m planning to do MBA through distance learning for my career growth.
But i m confused  to do MBA or not, because i have already done a PDG-IR&PM. should MBA add any value in my future growth?
if you are not suggesting me to do MBA then, pls. suggest me that what other professional courses i should do to add value in my career as well as my professional growth.
please suggest....
waiting for your suggestions

Hi, soma
Its good that u have done PGD-IR&PM. But i think u shd complete the Mba also... as it makes no harm rather will add value to ur career...
today companies r asking for Hr professionals with Specialization in Hr..
altogh wt u hv done will ofcourse serve the purpose, but MBA will add value it certainly..
Best Wishes..

As you are aware that IR & PM itself covers a wide ares of Functions, Human Resource, Industrial Relations, Personnel Management and Admin as well. For a getting ajob, I don't thin that MBA could do better, only the benefit of shortlisting Cvs from big companies, who asked for MBAs only..Other than this you must have read all the required books during your period of studies...

HI SOMA,
UR CONFUSION IS UNDERSTANDABLE, AS U HAVE DONE PGD IN IR&PM U CAN CONCENTRATE IN MANUFACTURING SECTOR AND BECOME IR SPECIALIST. U CAN ALSO BECOME WELFARE OFFICER AND THEN ON CAN CARRY AHEAD FURTHER. INSTEAD OF DOING MBA U CAN KNOW WHAT IS WHAT FROM SITES LIKE CITEHR, HR.COM AND ALSO UPGRADE UR KNOWLEDGE ON LEGAL ISSUES, AND CAN HANDLE DISCIPLINARY CASES TOO. HOPE THIS HELPS IF ANY QUERY PLEASE GET BACK, IF U FIND ANY MISTAKE PLEASE EXCUSE.
MBA is not mandatory, it just helps in entry level. BUt still if u feel u want to do it, then u can go for distance education courses via SYMBIOSIS ITS GOOD INSTITUTE FOR DISTANCE MBA.
REGARDS,
