Hi All
I have joined a company ( IT facilities management company)last year with terms agreed of 1 month notice in case I leave .
My posting was with a different company on third party payroll and I have been working there for now 1.4 years, so after completion of 1 year they appraised me and now putting/forcing a clause of signing a bond which states I can't leave the company for next 1 year and if I leave I have to give 90 days notice and payment if notice not given stating we have spent many on trainings however apart from basic job understanding no other trainings were provided to me in 1.4 year tenure and when I questioned they are saying we will start trainings after 6 months etc
Question - advice me
1- it is legal to get a bond signed
2- can they just change the notice period after 1 year
3- what should I do as I don't want to sign a bond as my pay grade is 35k /month
4- they are saying we have signed/one year contract with my posted company provided a confirmation that I won't be leaving their company.
5 - what to do ? Please advice

Compelling an employee to sign a bond is illegal. It is also wrong to increase the notice period without following the mandatory provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act which says that without notice the service conditions cannot be changed. However, in respect of an employee who is not a workman, the above rule shall not apply. A workman is one who is not having any reportees under him. Though these are the general law, the companies do all such illegal things in a labour market which is highly elastic. At the same time, in respect of employees who possess special skills, they are ready to compromise any policy.
