Was the 25th December, 2018 declared as holiday by your Organization? You took planned leave on 25th December, 2018 in advance with duly approved by the concerned Approving Authority?

Hi Prashant,
25th December is the optional holiday in my company but it was not approved by the authorities they told you don't have any leave in the kitty. As you joined in june so you will get only 3 optional leaves which you already taken.my point is that does compensatory off need to be there in kitty. Because in a year it is 6optional holiday i can take

Three days prior notice should be required whatever it is. corporate or private sector want allow you to take leaves on such days. Better if you that you required leave on 25th December you should approve this well in advance from authorized person. This is the basic thing which every one knows about.

If you are entitled for a holiday on 25th Dec, as per Holidays Act of your state, they cannot mark it as lop. Varghese Mathew
