I am working on formulating a leave policy for a startup based in Gurgaon - Haryana. Can someone please help me with the Act/Laws applicable (we are registered under Shops & Establishments Act) for a basis of the number of minimum leaves.

Haryana follows the Punjab Shop & Establishment Act. and as per it, every employee is eligible for 7 Casual Leaves, 7 Sick Leaves and 18 Earned Leaves in a calendar year. You may want to check section 14 of the aforesaid act. This excludes the national holidays.

Dear Member,
First see under which of the enactment you are entitled for weekly off day & then go through the relevant provision relating to grant of weekly off day. In general six day working is required for having 7th day as weekly off day.
