Dear All,
I am working as a HR/Operation Manager with a IT firm, and always have one question in my mind, which i wanted to share with you all and if anyone can explain the reason that will be great for me question is - As we are always a important part of the organization who use to make salary, make policies, rules and regulations use to follow it and make others to follow, use to make offer letter with 6 digits, 7 digits Salary to others But Y our own salary structure is lesser than others ? why we use to get lesser than others. Finally wanted to know -why HR salary is always lower than other department salary structure? whether we are not contributing anything to the organizational structure? we are not working towards the prioritization of the organizations? technical ppl are playing with softwares, technologies, sales ppl are playing with products but a person who is into HR always have to play with the people minds, then y our contributions towards organization is not countable?
many more questions i have but first wanted to know the reason behind these things...many seniors are here, hope will get some positive reply..
Thanks

Hello Aparna
It has something to do with the traditional perception that HR is a cost center but not profit center as it is not directly involved in generating revenues for the organisation like production, marketing or sales departments. However HR is indisputably the key contributor to organisational growth as the wealth for the organisation is built by people and people are built by HR through it's various initiatives.HR professionals need to show to the top management as to how their initiatives can directly contribute to business and how they are strategic partners in the business. Now organisations have started realizing the strategic role HR can play in their business growth in view of talent crunch and the changing paradigms of business. So let us hope that the future is not far when HR professionals too command salaries on terms equal with marketing and production professionals.
