Keeping in view of forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and also to attract workers vote bank ; Last month CM of Haryana has declared that w.e.f. Jan. 1st,2014 min. wages for Haryana will be Rs. 8100/- PM.
I just wanted to know that :
1- Pertaining to his decision "Is Govt. Notification is recd. by any of the industry (thru labor deptt.) or not".
2- I also read that employers are opposing it and raising their voice thru employers association.
Please reply.

Dear Gaurav,
Govt. of Haryana has not issued any notification so far. Yes, Employers Associations are opposing this increase. We hope that Govt. of Haryana will adhere to the procedure as laid down under applicable Minimum Wages, 1948 & the Rules made thereunder on fixation of revision of minimum wages for different schedule employments.

Resp. Khola Sir,
It means that any raw hand/inexperienced contractual worker (having base qualification of class 10) who will be engaged on or later Jan 1st,2014 will be entitled for Rs. 8100/- PM.
What should be the amount to be paid to (when there is no productivity increase and min. wages are increased by 50% approx) :
1- Contractual workers who are three, five years or more older and experienced.
2- SSK or Skilled unionized Operators who are on the rolls of company.
Govt's this decision again will disturb IR in the region.
Please advise.
Gaurav
Note :- Before last year almost all OEMs has given a very big hike to their unionized workers. Due to their profit margin they can do it but it was very difficult for their ancillaries to give even a marginal hike. It is also fact that in today's cut throat competition ; to survive in the market all OEMs adopt numerous sales promotion (off season discounts) schemes. It is also the fact that while dealing with any OEM ;every ancillary has to enter a contract to reduce their product cost by at least by 5% per annum.
