Prepare Your Audience before Communicating

Most of the failures happens due to ineffective communications despite all other best efforts.
Preparedness of listener (receiver) is most important for Effective Communication.
Mother of a new born is always prepared & hence even on a little cry of the baby, she understands and takes action.

Hi
This is a very good and important sharing on effective communication.
One of the most common and effective styles of public speaking uses the technique known as the 'Preachers Style'. This style can be summed as under
Tell them (the audience) what you are going tell them- Tell the audience the outline of the talk and what is they can expect to be covered during the presentation.
Tell them - Deliver the detailed message
Tell them what you told them - Recap and summarize the talk for the audience to remember the key points.
Note that the very first point is focused on preparing the audience for the message.
In written communication, a similar role is played by the Subject Line. Hence it is essential that particular attention is paid to drafting the subject line.

Jacob,
You stole words out of my mouth.
Yes, for proper retention, "tell them what u r going to tell them, tell them, and tell them what u told them."
These lines are absolutely in sync with the adult learning principles of "Recency" and "Primacy".

Quite interesting and it can be compared with MODULE OBJECTIVES and LEARNING OUTCOMES.
Module objectives will prepare the audience for the message to be received.
Learning outcomes will make them clear about the message they had received.
With profound regards

FEEDBACK
About few months back, I shared a quote by one of India's greatest Teachers and Philosophers
and I am happy post it again for benefit of viewers.
Hindsight, one cannot but admire the relevance of that quote in the present context.
