Greetings,
Is there any reason why you want to work before you complete your studies? I am asking this, as the motive will inspire you to work through.
The level of education that you have completed before your degree makes you eligible for a job. A stop gap arrangement works best when you have weighed your options. There are many jobs for graduates and undergraduates. Most of them belong to the BPO and media sector. Please explore your options depending on what you are comfortable with.
In Chennai, you have typesetting industry going pretty strong. Please look into that sector as well. KPO and IT Outsourcing is another sector for you. Marketing jobs generally pay low fixed and higher variables. If you are confident of your marketing and sales skills, this can be a job which will add on to your soft skills.
A key to select a second job or a vocation is to align it with what you want as your primary career.
I know a PHD student, who has been working in a typesetting firm since last three years. A job as a copy editor may not add onto his knowledge level. However, the company is in the research paper publishing industry. Hence, it offers him the best option to read research papers as a part of his job.
Jobs as a content developer is another area, you may explore depending on your interest towards writing.
Please share your areas of interest. Request you to research through the job boards to know more about the current opportunities
