The concept of Factory manager is in the Factories Act only. Under all other Acts the particulars of employer is required. Therefore, if your Factory Manager has changed, you need to renew the factory Licence.

Dear all.
As usual Madhu has pointed out correctly, in all other act there is no need to mentioned anything about Factory Manager.
As the factories act is concern about safety and Welfare of the Workmen, the duty of a qualifed or full time factory Manager is required.
I am slightly differ with Mr.Madhu regarding the renewal of factory licence, just sending Form 3A is enough for change of Manager. Just imagine a factory is changing two to three Factory Manager in a year, how to renew its licence everytime.

Hi
There is a provision in the Factories Act that the occupier will act as Manager of the factory till the new Manager is appointed.
I wish to know which section of the act /rule states the necessity of appointing a Manager for the Factory and his roles and responsibilities?
Request clarification.
Regards
Vetrivelan.
