Hi, In my company we are going to provide safety shoes to all the labors. In the past we have observed that when we have provided any safety gears labors are not taking care of it properly hence this time we have decided to provide them safety shoes by deducting (1/2)cost of shoes from there salary.
Is this advisable. Is there any law that says company has to provide safety gears free of cost to employees?
Kindly suggest.

I would suggest you to supply the shoes for the first time free of cost. Also fix the life period of shoes (i.e for six months or eight months). Thereafter any fresh issue of shoes (or any other items), should be recovered from the salary. However, after expiry of the life period, new inventory is to be issued at the cost of the company.

Dear Sir , We want safty shoes cleaning policy for organization request you to please provide the same .
Wearing safety shoes in the workplace is very compulsory, especially when it comes to health and safety hazards. To ensure the safety of employees, appropriate protective footwear must be worn by all persons when working in areas where there is a danger of foot injuries due to falling.

Dear Robinsonj,
Safety equipment or PPE should be provided by the employer, it is the responsibility of the employer to maintain the safety norms in the factory, as it is mandatory, and also protects them from injury and lawsuits. Regarding the same you can talk to your top management. I would suggest you to deduct some amount once in a year from their CTC rest you can cover under employee Safety and welfare.
