I am about to complete my EMBA with a GPHR certification and a CCOT ( psychometric Assessment) certification. I intend to make a career in HR.

Dear Viswa,
I am also an Hr professional and i am really curious to know the structure of your EMBA course.I will apprecaite if you can share with some details with respect to this particular course for e.g course fees, duration etc.

Dear Sameer,
I am doing my EMBA through S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research's overseas campus in Dubai. I am also told they have the same facility in Mumbai too. I am not really sure as to what is the fee structure there , which I guess you might have to enquire. The duration is for two years wherein the courses are module based and with a dissertation. You might want to log in to their website to find more.
All the best to you.

Hi Sameer,
Just to add to the above. What we have here are evening classes which is one week on and one week off and we have a cluster of exams in a couple of months covering all the subjects done during that period. We have marks allotted based on quizzes, participation, individual assignments, group work and the final exams. It is interesting and the value addition is good.

Hi,
Opportunities in Dubai for HR professionals are quite a bit. You can find a job here but to come here you would need a visa. What you can do is try to get in touch with the travel agents there and ask them to provide you a tourist visa mentioning that you want to visit Dubai. The visit visa is valid for two months and extendable by one month.Once on a visit, you can apply to the companies here. If you want to watch the scenario of HR placements, try logging into Monster gulf or Naukri gulf sites.

Hi Mayank,

EMBA from S.P.Jain in Dubai is good from my perspective. I have gained quite a bit from it. But, having mentioned that, I would also want to add that S.P. Jain is fairly new in Dubai meaning 3-4 years since it started providing EMBA courses and so we would need to bear in mind that it would have it's up's and down's in terms of the schedules. Since most of the faculty fly down from Mumbai,Singapore and a few external consultants, we could see some schedules being arranged and rearranged. Some batches have had issues of the exam marks not being provided on time etc. which is basically administrative issues. As for the learning and the take away, I felt it enriching. In fact, based on the feedback of the early batches, many modifications in the curriculum have been done. It is left to every student to make the most use of the course as you may understand that all the courses which are broken down as modules are for a week meaning 12- 13 sessions of 1.5hours each. The course contents provided are quite a bit and if you would devote time to go through it in the midst of your work schedule, then you can gain quite a lot during the classes and after the classes with the professor. It is a very big challenge to balance work-study-personal life during the course and one has to clearly make up one's mind towards this. Some guest lectures have been very good and quite useful for Middle East markets.

As an EMBA student, I felt that the onus was on me to make use of the teachings to apply at work, unlike a normal MBA or a GMBA student.

lets hiccup
hello balaji ,
i would like to know what the scope of EMba is here in Dubai as
compared to the GMba.
this query is for a person who has wrk. exp. of 2-3 years as sales
engineer in Mechanical parts / machinery in Dubai. i would like to know
after completing this course, what is the expected growth in income and
career . Also , is the course too difficult for a working person to
manage along with his work and faamily life? Are there any students who
have joined this MBA with similar expereince and then went on to get
better job offers?
could you also tell me what the fees structure is of the entire program and whtehr there are additional / hidden costs later on?
those students who faced problems with regards to exam marks etc ... were they able to deal with th administration directly? Does the administration listen to the problems faced by the students and solve them ?
If you could kindly answer my queries , i would appreciate it alot.
Thankyou and regards
Fouzia
