Dear All,

My name is Pranav and I work for a Japanese MNC.

Of the different types of Training Programs we conduct for our staff in a FY, we have 2 training programs which are my topics of discussion for today -

1. Junior Management Development Program (JMDP) conducted once in 2 years for Assistant Manager & Deputy Manager Level Staff
2. Management Development Program (MDP) conducted once in 3 years for Deputy Manager & Manager Level Staff

The above two trainings are conducted with an objective to groom the staff, to be more effective in their current roles and take up future challenges
and roles in the company. Both training programs may also include staff whose years of service in the company has been long enough and who couldn't
be nominated for the above trainings before. It could also include staff who fall in the age category of 45 years plus but are either Assistant Managers,
Deputy Managers or Managers.

Considering the above challenge, we would like to design new training program betwen JMDP & MDP, with a similar theme & objective.

Regarding the same, i request your kind inputs & suggestions on drafting the name of the training program for us.

(The challenge is that these people may or may not be managing a team and may or may not be on a managerial role)

Your kind inputs on the same shall be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,

Pranav

Hi,
You can keep different names like
PMDP: Professional Management Development Programme or Professional Staff Development Programme
PDG : Personality Development & Grooming
CGE : Corporate Grooming and Etiquettes
Greater awareness of Grooming and Etiquette skills will help the executives to increase their poise and confidence. This will significantly change the impact that they have in any formal, professional and social situations.

Hi
You could call it the Executive Development Program (EDP) so that it is a grade higher than the JMDP and a bridge to the MDP program.
However, since JMDP is every 2 years and MDP every 3 years you may have to re-look how you propose to incorporate the frequency of the EDP program.
More than anything else focus on the topics and depth of coverage of the topics for each module. Any form of repetition of topics could be demotivational to participants, unless the faculty taking the sessions is different and the inputs shared progressive and varied.

Hi,
I suggest,
1) Clarify to stake holder's that what is the expected out come of each program
2) Certainly the out come/Objective should not be similar for both the programs - then it will defeat the purpose
3) You can also look at naming the programs different from routine - may even provide comfort or avoid discomfort among the participants or stake holders
The Names can be : Nurture - Level Next - Leader or "Rookie - Master - Champ
All the best
