Dear all, Have a nice day! I want to do M.B.A.. Is there any difference between distance and regular M.B.A.? If I do from the private institute, whether it will be eligible for a faculty post in Colleges? Please help me in deciding. Thanks in advance.

Hi Indu
Yes, it makes a lot of difference if you do MBA regular than a distance course because the regular course gives you lot of practical exposure which can not be acquired while doing distance learning MBA. distant MBA can fetch you something only when you have work experience of atleast 3 years. it will only then help you to relate the work related concepts with what you will learn in literature.
as far as job in college is concerned, most of the colleges while selecting candidates do look in to your degree and repute of the institution. even if you can not manage to do it from good b-school, please keep in mind that institution from where you wanted to have a degree should be AICTE approved.
hop it helps you

Hi Indu,
It would be good idea to do a regular MBA if you want to be clear in the HR fundamentals and fetch good job opportunities through Campus.A distance MBA cannot give you the B school exposure and develop your Knowledge, competencies and personality. Today organizations insist on regular MBA's rather than part timers or distance MBA grads to qualify for job opportunities. My sugesstion is to complete your MBA from of a reputed B school or University and you are sure to achieve your aim.

hi Indu,
if u r working then go for distance learning it is good for you, if you have practical knowledge, why r u going for regular obviously for knowledge and if u r working then u r dealing with real practical knowledge.. i know u r not in hr but it does not matter, u have seen office and their working.. rest ur decision... i agree with hitesh that regular institute is good.. but for you keep on working and do distance learning side by side so that ur hope kills ur boredome and frustration..

Hi Indu
Look you already have done double post graduation what will be the fun to go for another post grad degree. I have a better option for you. If you want to go for further education, go for Ph D in your chosen subject. It will solve your three purposes. One, it will quench your thrist to study. secondly it will help you to acquire a good teaching position in good college. Thirdly, Phd is not a regular programme, there is just a certain hours of supervision you need to take from your guide and prepare a thesis. ( but mind you! this does not mean that phd is an easy cake walk, you have to put in a lot of efforts to qualify) i think this will solve your problem. and if you are really keen to go for business management. go for a diploma for one year and after that go for Phd in your interest area.
Regarding IIIT, pune go to their website you will get the information.
Hop it gives you some direction to think.

Hitesh
