I am doing distance learning MBA now next semester onwards I have to decide to take specialization and based on my past work experience (not HR but customer care, admin & counseling) I want to take HR as a specialization but after hearing from some people I am bit confused. Oflate I have heard that HR industry in India is still young and under evolution and in India there is not much scope for HR jobs. Though there are many HR/placement/recruitment companies and consultancy and you may regularly see requirements of HR generalist or HR recruiter in job portals etc.. but in the long run if you want to grow there is not much of scope and there is no career growth for an HR as such.. Can anyone help me by clearing my doubts and does anyone have any idea about how much fresher (MBA - HR) with previous experience but not in HR is likely to get paid?

Hi,
The scope of human resource management in India is very great indeed. This is because there is an increasing number of jobs within the IT sector and also because the number of young people looking for work is also on the rise. Therefore the demand for young and talented people has increased dramatically.
Do not worry about the pay.First concentrate on your course and try to excel in it. Pay and perks come automatically once people (Management) notice your potential.

There is no good scope of HR in India. If you have studied from a very very reputed MBA college only than you can expect good career in HR.
Otherwise you will feel throughout your life, why did I took HR in my MBA.You will find persons in other field, they will rise more than you, if you are in HR field. If you are exceptional student than the things will be otherwise. If you are average than don't take HR.
