Hello every one,
i anirudh student of ICAI and one of our client is registered under shops and establishment act which is a listed company.
my query is the said client has engaged contract labour and i want to know whether contract labour act is applicable for the client.
in such case please tell me what is shops and establishment act and how to verify the rules and procedures applicable

For applicability of the Rules & procedure applicable to your client's establishment you have to go through your applicable State Shops & Establishment Act & the Rules made thereunder.If you have engaged 20 or more contract laborers through one or more contractors then then you will be covered under the Contract Labour (R&A) Act, 1970.

Is security companies comes under shop and establishment act if yes what is the procedure.

If the security company have its office which is situated in the area where the State Shops Act is applicable & if office is covered under the applicability clause in that Act then that office will be covered under the Shops Act. For getting it registered you have to through your applicable Shops & Establishment Rules.
