That is the for me too, I have 15 yrs experience in Administration & IR, Doing Phd is also in my mind. I believe it would be helpful if one wishes to have a career shift to academics. However, Industry views would be much appreciated

No value in industry except if one like to opt for any acadenic job, criteria for which is fixed at Minimum PhD (what is the basis of keeping such restrictions, even policy makers/formulators do not bother to explore that with the passage of time!). Please note that many successful leaders here do not have formal management degree forget about PhD.
* Selection to Professor: Eligibility: PG degree/ME/MTech/MBA + 10 years experience in teaching/research/industry etc. or PHD degree with some experience. There is hardly any basis in finding out the Parameters of Equivalence between PG + Exp. with PhD.
* Selection to PhD programme- Differs equally in eligibility, degree requirement, duration, off-campus/on-campus requirement, contact hours/residential needs etc.etc. leaving far behind the quality of the research jobs. No uniformity.
So what we can expect from such a system! Nothing. But let us be in this turbulent flow (of present higher education) as per available choice and chance of getting it as another degree "Dr."
All the best !!

Hello Mona, you are on right path. After pursuing PHD in Management you can get a good hike in your position or can get a good position job else where. Here I would like to suggest you don't bound your limitation to select a institute without search a proper one. As like you mentioned you want to pursue your PHD from Mumbai University, there are a number of other Private universities in India also offering PHS in Management courses. As per My suggestion MVN is Best management college in India offering PhD in Management. For getting more help you may contact to MVN via official website. :-) If you are interested then please visit MVN ASAP because admission of session 2013-14 is getting close after some days.
