Dear Ekta,
Good that you would like to initiate Mentoring in your company. It is a very important and effective HR intervention.
I will conduct training programme on "How to Start Mentoring in your Company". There will be two training programmes, one for Mentors (3 days)and another for Mentees or learners (1 day). I will do the following for you:
a) Prepare the policy on Mentoring (whole training programme would revolve around execution of this policy)

b) Prepare a customised schedule of the Mentoring Programme. For this I will,
i) identify the Mentors and train them
ii) identify the Mentees or learners and train them.
iii) do the requisite pre-training activities or surveys to do the above two training programmes.
c) Prepare the Measures to Appraise the Mentoring Programme
d) I will remain guide to the mentors (optional)

hey......... Rajeev here from Mumbai.....
I am supposed to do the same thing. I started with my interns this monday and I also need to study the mentoring process in atleast 5 companies.....
Once the benchmarking is done, I will have to prepare a mentoring plan that can be implemented in my organization.
I guess we could help each other out.... Wat say ??

Hi there,
Have you also considered using a mentoring software product, to match mentors to mentees? Insala offers a mentoring software called Hi-Impact Mentoring with the following features:
  1. Tools for matching and pairing.
  2. Mentoring Assessments.
  3. Training on the mentoring concept, strategic consulting to help roll out the initiative in the correct way.
  4. Tracking data, allowing you to measure the results in a user friendly report.

Dear Ms. Revathy Shanmugham,

You have chosen quite difficult subject for your research.

Not many well-established companies have a formal mentoring programme in place leave alone reverse mentoring.

If mentoring programme is there then it is more for showcase purpose and no monitoring mechanisms are in place. In many companies, HR even do not know what mentoring is all about.

A short cut to mentoring is buddy-buddy programme. But again for this programme also either monitoring or appraising mechanisms are missing.

Against this backdrop having a reverse mentoring is far cry.

Any way all the best for your research. Would you mind to share your research with me.

Thanks,

Dinesh V Divekar
