Dear Neha,
Though your query is small the reply is quite big. Before preparing the Career Development Plan (CDP) for each employee, you need to few important things as well. First is to identify the KRAs and KPIs for each department. Identify the top performers in each department and you need to groom them for the higher level. To groom them for a higher level, you need to identify the competencies required for each position. CDP includes building those competencies.
CDP also includes potential development. This is a little difficult. For this, you need to start formal mentoring programme. This is much easy to say than execute.
CDP for employees requires support from the top management. Is your management ready for this?
If you wish to take further inputs then you may contact me on my mobile.
All the best!
