Hi Neha,
In my office we had implemented system of late mark. Our official timings are 9.30am to 5.30pm.Any employee coming after 9.30am will be considered as late mark,on 3rd late mark his/her half day salary will get deducted.
Employees coming after 10.30am will be considered as half day, same is applicable in evening.
Thanks & Regards

Hi Neha,
Some Ways through which you can curb late coming in a company could be:
1) Allow employees to reach 30minutes late in the office, frequency of which could be decided by the management. Devise a form. The employee has to inform before hand for late coming. This form/ small slip should be filled by the employee signed by the T.L or Higher Authority and submitted to H.R / Admin. The late coming permission could be granted once or twice in a month.
2) You could deduct salary in proportion to time or occasions of late coming. Like you can excuse late coming first or second time by just giving strict verbal warning. From third occasion charge an amount along with written warning.
3) You can ask the employee to compensate for late coming. For instance if s/he reaches 15 minutes late than ask him or her to put in more work for those 15 minutes.
4) It is really important to have written policies for late coming and measures which H.R will adopt in event of late coming / tardiness / absence.
You can even make it very clear with all the employees like in our company we have a policy that Maximum period of delay for reporting to work on any working day would be 15minutes over and above the normal working time.
Hope this information could suffice your requirement.

Dear Neha,
I agree with Shalini....
Also, wud like to share with u....
In my pervious org, we had strict timings from 10 to 7....compulsarily we had to work for 8 hours...
In case we were late by 10 - 15 mins we had to inform our seniors , immediately.
Three late marks in a month would mean a half day and accordingly salary was deducted.
I feel if the management and team leaders corporate then surely this works.....and you too need to be strict....no leniency and no excuses.

Anu
