Dear Sarabjeet,
I should say that its quite a good and a valid question.
I hope I would be able to answer the same.
TNI: Its the simple identification of the training needs of an individual.
TNA: It is the study of needs, in the sense prioritisation of the needs, according to urgency, organisational requirement etc. The end result of the same is to get the needs that would create maximum impact and should be catered at the earliest.
TNE: It is the mapping part of the needs. Whether the needs identified are pertaining to the job requirements (current or future) or not.
I hope my senior HR Professional would agree with this.

I think I can add on here.
TNI : TRAINING NEED IDENTIFICATION - Acts as base for the training as to why should a training be conducted in the first place or what is the need for the training?
TNA : Training need Analysis : To understand who requires what training - a simple analysis of what is required and what is available
TNE : Training need evaluation : To evaluate if the training is worth conducting.. It is not worth conducting the training for 1 resource if the traininer is to be hired from an external source or if the training overheads is high etc.
If someone has a difference in opinion, please share it.
Regards,
Sumathy

Hi All HR & TRAINING Professionals - A Very Good evening on the eve of Independance day !
I have now after 3 decades of HR / IR / PESONNEL hard core plant / corporate HR job have takenup for TEACHING - and am teaching MBA Students in one of the Management Institutes in New Mumbai since last 2 weeks!
It's that passion & giving me emmence pleasure !
The discussions on TNI - TNA - TNE : will always continue :
One another terminology I have seen undertaken by the TRAINERS being utilised is -
"PRE - PERI - POST TRAINING".
PRE = Prior to the Training Input situation
PERI = Status of learning capabilities during the sessions &
POST = Periodic Evaluation after the Training Inputs provided
However, the terms may be diffrent - the ultimate process and the concepts remain the same ... I hope !!
