yes there are people in the organizations who take credit of your work. observe them for sometime...start doing work in a stratigic way. have some innovation in your work that people start recognizing you that this work can be be done by u not by ur boss/colleague. it is difficult to tackle with these kind of people but not impossible.

Ms. Deepti,
If you are not working in a leadership role and working in a team under the supervision of Team Leader who is responsible for the results of the team and authorised to report top management on routine matters ! why it comes to your mind of credit of work done by you ? you are responsible for your work to your senior, he can appreciate your work if you do well. You are obeying your boss by taking work instructions and doing your job, what credit you want in what terms, your boss will recognise your work and if you are good in your work than everyone comes to know and recognises a good employee sooner or later..................

hi Mamta,
fully agree with your views. But as an employee you certainly need some motivation to work. I believe money is not only the factor. In my opinion recognition is the biggest motivation. There should be some kind of recognition for your hard work. If you keep on doing work and no body appreciating you and not recognizing your work, the momentum can not be the same for long.

Dear Deepti,
You are right.........you need appreciation for work, depends on boss if he is of appreciative nature else you can ask his feedback on your work and demand appreciation........or don't expect and remember geeta ka gyan.

Hi Deepti,
It is sad to note that your boss is a peculiar personality, taking credit for oneself on the basis of others work is unacceptable, but your boss does it. In my opinion perhaps due to his qualities of low esteem what he has developed in him make feel inferior to over come that he is working in the opposite direction.
You need to be broad minded and positive minded igonoring this kind petty things will elevate you to the higher positions. Time is the only healing factor
Bye for now

i don't know why people are really interested to evaluate other.
Deal All what do you say for this: If your boss is not good, unable and incapable, why can't you be and change him/her?

Hi Deepti

It depends on the environment and your leadership. When you have good leadership qualities and if you stand separate or impress other bosses above your immediate boss, then there is lot of scope to come out this problem

Secondly, lady employee might not get along with a lady boss.. If your boss is lady, then you have to use some other method to get your talents noticed by other senior bosses

Don't bad mouth the boss, it may backfire.. So play safely

If the organisation's environment is not good, then bosses like this will have more upper hand and you cannot overcome them... Only where there is transparency and good work culture, the credit will go the right person.. If you feel everyone is like this in this company, then you have to look for a place in some other company or change in department here itself where you can get recognised.

I feel, if you improve your leadership skills and ensure that you are noticed by other heads also as a sincere and brilliant worker, then you might have a chance to get credit. Eg. Your boss may have to disclose who did it if your boss's boss happens to ask more doubts on what you do.

Preferably keep all the work done documented. May be you can send all inform what you prepare by email, so that there is a proof who has done it

May be you can try it out
