i am a HR Consultant. I get so many profiles for my postings ( say about 500 profiles a day). most of the profiles may not fit into the requirement. In this case should i reply them pinpointing the reasons why i can not take his/her profile ahead to my client. if i reply them it may consume a lot of my time so there is a chance that i may not reach my target of the day.

No buddy, these feedbacks (rejections letters) should be given to the interviewees, not to those who have merely forwarded their resumes. Practicallyspeaking , even a candidate applies to n no. of jobs and doesn't expect feedback.
However, what U can do is customise your e-mail client so that the candidates automatically get an acknowledgement. This wud add value n yo image.
Open for suggestions.
Cheers,
Devashish.

gentleman,
we will let you know means they will think over leter and will inform you about their decision on outcome of the inerview.
This is customary phrase used to express interview panel's inability to give you immediate feedback on your performance of interview which most of companies do express by giving feedback.

Dear Devashish,
This process depends on which kind of organizations we had been interviewed if they are midsize mabiya or propritor companies don't bother we are refering to the good public limited & stock exchange listed companies or MNC they bother of their market image and practice good HRM.
If i am interviewed by some narrow minded management who's business ethics means only making money by exploiting man, machinary, money and material they do not bother for value addition or culture. So we don't count them as company run by professional management then question to give feed back doesnot arise by these companies.

Its a good sign that in the in the same way what we mail a candidate a interview call letter, we can also send a feeback mail to the candidate by mentioning that he was not selected by giving the genuine reasons (if possible). Thats actually improves the companys image a lot in the mind of the candidates.

Thruly said bro, but theoritical. U talking about MNCs and hood PSUs ehh? How about Barclays, FIC (Singapore NBFC) and Mizuho Bank (Japan's second largest bank). I never found any feedback to the rejected candidates.
Same goes gor Indiabulls and Unicorns ans Shriram group; to name a few.
But yes, ofcourse there are many organisations that do provide.
Guess U got my point Rashit bhai.
Cheers,
Devashish.
