I am not sure that there is any need to be apologetic.
The thread Initiator wanted to know the 'how' part for a particular 'path' he chose, while some members pointed out that there are strong reasons, from a larger perspective, that the 'path' itself that has been chosen MAY NOT be the right one.
At the End-of-day, it's for the individual to take the Final call in any circumstances, whether it's in professional or personal life--INCLUDING facing the consequences of such a decision, which may not be always the case.
