Dear Seniors,
I have been working with a company for the past few Months as HR executive. Till now everything is going smooth, but I have a genuine doubt to ask.
Whom should a HR in a company support the most. Is it the employees or the management.
There are certain cases where the HR is forced to support the management decisions but might create a enmity for employees and vice versa.
what exactly is the right way, is it the employees or the management that the HR should actually support?

Hello Karthik,
First i would request you to answer the following with your best knowledge and understanding
What do you think the Human Resource Management is?
Why an organisation required HR department?
What are the major responsibilities of HR department?
What does a Human Resources Manager Do?
and answer to your questions, i would say that HR must not support but to maintain a balance between Management and Employee and to work according to the concept of its formation or to fulfill the purpose of its existence in an Organisation.

Hi Karthik,
HR is a source of expertise on people issues in a business; it is here to formulate policy and practice on people issues, to advise on the people aspects of organizational change and to take a ‘people perspective’ identifying solutions to address the challenges the business faces.
As said by Anil Arora, HR has to maintain a balance between Management and Employee and to work according to the company polices and procedures.

Dear Karthick
It depends on whether you consider HR as a profession or not.; and how much value you place on your professional ethics.
All professions are bound by its code of Conduct and Professional Ethics.
If a patient has an illness and the fact will make him feel bad; should a doctor tell him about it or lie that there is nothing wrong with him ??
C.A.'s are also employed in companies; so whether they should point out the facts of taxation etc. or hide these matters to benefit the company ??
All these answers lies with you only. There is no question of supporting employees or company owners. You can choose to act on whatever is dictated by your moral and professional values. But you must make yourself aware of what is wrong and what is right.
Warm regards.
