Hi Sanket & all

I think one should people in recruitment field shoul start day by 11.00 am and work till 8 -8.30 pm because the tech guys do attend your call after 7.00 pm and it is good time then to negoitate salary, fix interviews and get reference... Let me know if you recruitment people agree.

not exactly correct. if in liaison work some times we have wait till the job finished, otherwise the work may not be completed. liaison work depends on the matter we have to deal and persons we have to deal.

I think HR job is also equivalent to any other job profile in the industry. So it all depends on how much work load u have & the kind of Manager your reporting to. So enjoy work :-D

Hi All,
I dont think so. These days HR and recruitment professionals dont have any fixed working hours whther its IT/ITES/BPO or non IT. One has to strech most of the times depending on the work pressure. As a matter of fact its your perception and attitude towards work which decides whether you shld work from 9-6 or shld stay late hours. Moreover its not only the amount of time you spend at your workstation but its abt the quallity of work you do at the desired pace. Its all abt quality with speed my FRIEND !!!!

Dear All,
All companies these days are focussed globally rather than one country...owing to the timelines of different country one need to work as per the time of the other country also hence the same applies to HR as well..I am not talking of the companies which are nationally based yes they certainly can work from 9-6 if the culture permits them to leave early which i doubt as most of the ppl make their name by sitting late and showing they are working where as they are not ...they pass their morning and afternoon gossipping and start they work in the evening to show the Management they are very hard working..coming back to the point ..HR cannot work in silos and isolation hence i wont only say extended hours but would also say flexible hours too are required.....at times working from home could be a good idea as happening in many IT and Telcom companies now........As HR is part of the organisation it cannot take liberty of 9-6 because of geographical boundaries

In my opinion the HR person should set personal example to others on how to manage time. If he sets bad example he looses the credibility to ask others to mange time well. M.Sivakumar
Hi,Today's changing scenario demands from everyone inclusive of an HR person to work more than a stipulates time frame. So i guess we cant say that an HR should work from 9 to 6. Infact i agree with some here that we need to work extra soemtimes due to work load. Also in recruitment field we need to work more as candidates have a varying job time. so we need to set up interviews maybe after 6 also. What say??
