shiv,
Boring is mindset, If you want to succed in your area , you have to stretch yourself innovatively, I also went through the same situation, unitll i attended few peprogrames on my own, This programe are life changing programme. 7 habits Of stephen Covey, NLP of Richard bandler, Silva Mind of Jose Silva. i have become a trainer in my own organisation. Now the organisation looks for my innovative prgrammes.
It is all how you create your own opportunity ?( habit 1,)
I get lot of satisfaction using NLP and 7 habits for counselling, coaching,Therapy and Training. (www.mindcounseling.com) I m introducing Couples counseling next year in my organisation
wish you all the best, think innovatively.HR is a service department. "satisfaction through service" should bey your motto.
If not, you are cut out for something else.

Dear All
i do not know what u all folks including Ash are talking about...... I am working in for the last 27 yrs since 1982.... i hv worked in Thermal Projects, Paper, Textile, Plastic, Engg and Auto industry... working in a senior level now... it has been an evolving, interesting and engaging career.... not a single day i cud count as boring.... i think u need to feel the dept in yr pulse and blood...
my suggestion is if u feel bored.... change the industry and see.... if u r still bored.... for godsake QUIT....

Dear Chandan
I don`t agree with your view every thing in the world is as interesting as you have the wish if you wear different glasses and see the different world in frount of you and
HR is a daily learning process - no body will bore if he/she chooses the way to learn the good things everyday instead of repeated tasks.

Hi all,

Infact i'd always enjoyed my work till i was associated with the previous co. coz i got to work on the field which i'd no idea about and that was challenging too where i'd learned every day and had seen myself growing.

But think my growth has stopped here. When i joined this co. there were three of us in HR team with no Manager-HR. We all were reporting to three different people who actually had no link to HR and didn't even know it's definition (I was reporting to Company Secretary & Manager Accounts, and two of my colleagues were reporting to different Business Managers????!!!!????). Many a times i'd come up with new and creative ideas but because of one proper head and support, failed to implement any. Got demoralized as well.

Now we have Head HR but the scenerio is worst as he doesn't believe in listening so again we have fallen into a deep pit.

These things have really demotivated me a lot and have thought of changing my job but think the market conditions are not favorable.

Now i usually think that my job is sucking me as i don't find anything new and challenging. Everyday, the same old task and same handling of employees' grievances with nothing new :(

Dear Shiva
Your are not correct. For three years of service you feel bore of it. I am a person dealt with the HR matters nearly for 30 years without any boreness, instead, I feel to know many more things, innovative methods, techniques, practices, programmes, Plans, etc., toknow better. HR is such an activity which gives entire satisfaction and belief in the minds of the HR professionals to do service to the personnel. For three years, it is not sufficient to know more about the techniques in HR. You are in the initial stage of HR. You need to learn many more modern techniques, practices, programmes relaltion to Human Resource Management, Development, Implementation and Planning.

I do not agree at all. HR field is filled with so much challenges that every day is new one-----of course if one takes it that way. Take Recruitment. This itself is very intersting. Interviewing candidates and understaning them and when they are selcted how do they feel about you and the kind of rapport you develop with them. Its just fantastic. If this is PAN India assignment. Then things are more interesting. Every field if we make it routine will be boring.Hence please instill some joy in that.

I have been working in HR for close to 16 years, and of course, sometime you will feel bored, not because of what you do or your job functions but because of how peoples not appreciate what you do...
