Hello everyone, I am pursuing MBA in HR. I need to know what technical skills I need to be updated with in order to gain an edge.
It would be great if someone can elaborate on the practical side(corporate use) of the technical skill and the duration to master the skill.

Surely the reason for doing this course of study is to learn the very skills you will need.
We could tell you what we think you need to know, but at the end of the day, every organisation is different and THEY will decide what skills a HR person needs to meet the objectives of their company. So the question you should be asking yourself is what sort of organisation do I want to work for, and then go and talk to HR people in the industry sector you hope to work, and ask them the questions of what will be needed.

Technical is a term used to specify the non-soft skill areas. Technical can be engineering, medical, legal which are specific to the subject. Technical is nothing but techniques required for a particular domain or role. In respect of HR, the technical skills could be clear communication, negotiation (with candidates ), Interviewing (of candidates), human psychology (in understanding the human beings ie. resource required for an organisation) and it goes on.
