Hi All,
I work as an HR in a Product based software company.
I wnat to understand the leave calculation...
below is the details
We give an employee leave for 1 week for Marriage.
For eg: Employee wedding is on 18th Aug. He is planning to apply leave from 15th Aug to 31st August in between we have 2 holidays & 4 sundays. (Monday)15th August is a holiday & 18th Aug is a holiday as its independence & Rakshabandan.
So the leave is calculated for how many days???
Please help me.
Thanks & Regards,

Hi Shanthi
Do you have any leave policy? What does it say about the sandwich leave policy?
If at all you don't have any policy as such there are 2 options.
1) As per the leave rules if any employee avails leave between Friday to Monday then the same shall be treated as 4 days leave.
2) There are many companies in favouring the employees as if any employee avails leave between Friday to Monday & if you are working 5 days a week they will consider 2 days leave & if you are working 6 days a week then its 3days as leave.
Now you can take the appropriate calculation by approaching top management. Later its always advisable to make clear leave policy to avoid the confusion
If any more information you can reach me

In General most of the companies follow the process like:
In case of Casual & Sick leave the intervening holidays & weekly offs are considered to be part of leave & in case of Earned Leave they are not part of leave.
