Dear friends,

I am in Holland, I am studying HRM. I am doing my research paper. But I am looking for a successful case study in the sense that a successful reward system in terms of extrinsic and intrinsic rewards have retained and motivated excellent R&D workers in Banglore. Since Jobhoppings in Software especially during R&D workers are very common. Can you help me with this?

In my research paper I want to explore whether the balanced extrinsic and intrinsic rewards can be very successful or significant to retain these R&D knowledge workers. Since the mobility of R&D knowledge workers can bring big risk to Small and Medium software enterprises, for the confidential information could be brought out as well.

some people think jobhopping is the chance or step to develop their career. it is necessary, how do you think that ? Do you think reward system in terms of extrinsic and intrinsic is a good way to retain the excellent R&D workers in software industry?

If you have some good suggestions, please tell me! Thank you very much in advance!

Am I doing a right research topic?

Thank you very much!

I am very appreciated if you can give help!

Well, this is what i have observed in the industry...
  • 1. It is possible to retain to R&D [or any IT expert] in the company for a short term based on intrinsic rewards. The reason being that the employees might get some really good [financially] offer from some other employer, which would be really hard to ignore.
    2. If the intrinsic rewards are lacking, forget your employee, he won't be with you for long, and it counts not only for IT industry but for any industry where creativity is required. So assure that your employee is satisfied on this count.
    3. I don't know of any company who has been able to keep its Labour turnover of R&D executives to nil / negligible. And the reasons mostly are as counted in point no 1.

Some of my friends in TCS say that they are quite satisfied both intrinsically as well as well paid, and are not seeking any job change...
