Please share your best knowledge... if a working woman can apply for a new job in her maternity period. Can she appear or try to get the new job if she is in 5th month of her pregnancy?

yes you can try but believe me no one will hire you. I don't understand why are you doing this as you will be entitled for maternity leave with in 2 months approx. stay in current job and get the benefit of six months paid leave.

If the company doesn’t have Maternity Leave policy, then?

How could this happen whats the head count in your company. Please go and talk to your HR. If the head count is above 10 then MB Act is applicable to your establishment and if you have worked for 80 days you are eligible..

Hi,
It is mandatory for company to provide ML, also, for all new female joiners ML policy needs to be explained at time of joining. Please discuss the matter with your senior management asap.
Other seniors here can advise better.
Thanks and Regards,
