Dear Seniors,
As of today we do not have a Employee Satisfaction Survey in our company. But my KRA's suggest that 20% of my job should be maintaining employee satisfaction to 85%.
In order to maintain the employee satisfaction i am doing a lot of activities etc in the unit.
But i do not have measure to calculate or find the same.
Kindly forward me a format / form / survey to measure employee satisfaction.

I appreciate your way out to look for some solutions... The fact is even if you take survey, you can not make some actions on the ground.
It all comes from the books, goes into books, after sometimes goes into trash..
But an advise, do the survey, loyal and working class in your company, feel good about it, that after all some one came to their desk for asking the problems...
Beware of the people in HR, who do not want to do anything!!!
Go ahead!!! you will get full support from the people who do their jobs honestly.

Hello Viraj:

>As of today we do not have a Employee Satisfaction Survey in our company. But my KRA's suggest that 20% of my job should be maintaining employee satisfaction to 85%.<

How many employees?

>In order to maintain the employee satisfaction i am doing a lot of activities etc in the unit.<

Are you helping supervisors to become successful in their jobs?

>But i do not have measure to calculate or find the same.<

How many employees quit or were fired last year?

Do all employees meet their goals?

Employee satisfaction is not as important as employee engagement.
  • Poor performers can be satisfied if they are paid well and treated well.
  • Poor performers can be unsatisfied even if they are paid well and treated well.
  • Good performers can be unsatisfied if they are paid well but not treated well.
  • Good performers can be unsatisfied it they are paid poorly but well treated.
  • Good performers can be unsatisified if they are unchallenged.
>Kindly forward me a format / form / survey to measure employee satisfaction.<

When employers ask employees for their opinions the employees may expect things to change. Are you in a position to make changes as a result of the survey?

Dear Bob,
Thakns for the reply.
How many employees?

Around 1000 accross the group

Are you helping supervisors to become successful in their jobs?

Yes, we do a lot of training activities which helps in the overall development of a supervisor, also we send exclusive time with each person to sort out issues if any and take feedback.

How many employees quit or were fired last year?

Many, for various reasons from Job satisfaction to salary to managers.

When employers ask employees for their opinions the employees may expect things to change. Are you in a position to make changes as a result of the survey?

Though our unit is a corporate driven and whatever plans i make need an approval from corporate, i would like to do my bit by finding a solution and suggesting the same. I am hoping for the best.

Dear Viraj

May I know what unit are you from?

1. You should have gotten clarification from your direct superior for your KRA and targets when it was assigned to you.

2. Employee Satisfaction Survey is usually a HR-driven company-wide initiative. If you are not HR, you may like to explore with HR to design and conduct one accordingly.

3. A word of caution is that if the organization is not ready to change or willing to change, please do not conduct such a survey because employees' expectations are raised and looking forward to changes. But if it did not happen, employees will no longer trust and have confidence with the management and organization for future survey. C

4. When an organization identifies Employee Satisfaction Index as a corporate KPI, then a formal survey needs to be done. But the very first time you conduct this survey is in actual fact to determine your base line and then how much you want to improve. Example, from the current 70%, after a whole-year of initiatives, to achieve the target of 85%.

5. In your case, you need to proceed with this first survey. The survey results is your roapmap to changes & initiatives. These are targeted changes and initiatives that the employees are looking for that will definitely improve satsifaction level and not just lots of activities but not meeting expectations.

6. Survey results need to be communicated to the whole organization and action plans need to be identified and carried out in the next "52 weeks" after result sharing in order to achieve the optimum goals.

7. If you go through CiteHR for Employee Satisfaction Survey Questionnaires or Forms, you would be able to download many quality versions of the questionnaire. Select one and customize it to meet your needs.
