Dear Member,
It depend on the type of leave. There is three type of leaves that a company gives to their employees. CL, SL & PL.
If anybody availing PL than certainly the holiday will also include. But it is a CL/SL than holiday will not count.
You may also wait for some more views on this topic.
Thanks

I'm sorry for differing with above views.
This is the normal practice for following leave rules:
1. CL - a casual leave can only be prefixed or suffixed with a holiday. But not both. Hence the holidays during the leaves shall be counted as such leave.
Same case with Sick leave. The holidays during sick leave is counted. In other words can you agree that a person is NOT well on Saturday and on Monday but perfectly alright on SUNDAY which is a holiday.
2. As far as PL is concerened, as per the factory laws, the holidays occured during PL CAN NOT be counted. As this leave is earned by the employee for working in the previous calender year.
Hoep this is clear.

CL can be either prefixed or sufixed to holiday and not on both.
Holidays falling amidst SL is counted as SL.
For PL or EL it depends:
1. If the company provides PL (rather EL) on actual days worked in the previous year, then holidays falling in between PL cannot be counted. ie. Satri has mentioned referring Factories Act.
2. That Companies have PL policy which is not calculated on actual days worked, but on annual basis (like 30 days PL or 2.5 days/month), in that case the holidays falling in between is cunted as PL availed.
( it is the case where white collars are being paid for their weekly offs, which they have deemed worked on that day)
