Hi Santosh,
It is good that you want to get in core HR, but before you could jump into, please do gather some information.
And analyse whether you can handle it or not because core Hr activities means extra work and more challenging.
Difficulties like salary hike, retention and other grievances need to be taken care.
Thanks
Pallavi.

Hi
What do you mean by core HR??You mean HR General??
In recruitment itself, there is so much to master. If you gain solid experience in han dling Recuitment.. not only interviewing but mastering the entire process, you will have more scope and easily move to HR Generalist

Dear Santosh ,
How are you, I am working in a pvt org as Incharge Human Resource in Lahore. Which company i have worked before, a one person was performing his job as Training & Development Manager and he doest know any thing about other H.R activities. Now he wants to join to any other company as Manager H.R but he has the knowledge only training & development. So now he is facing many problems in career. You must have much knowledge regarding other H. R activities and must get some experience thats why may its help you in future.
Best of Luck.

Hi Santosh,

ASK yourself , why you want to get into what you call core HR?

IS it for money?, or Growth in your career? or Change of Responsibilties? What are you expectations when you want to go into Core HR.

Difficulties will be there in every role. But you need to assess if you are capable to handle the Role you are expecting to move into. If your inclination is because you are inspired or passionate towards the role, please assess your capabilities.

To move into Core HR activities, you need patience, handle pressure from other people, you are the bridge between the organisation's management and thier people.

All people in a company will not be the same, everyone's needs and responsibilties are different. So you should be able to make all of them follow the same set of rules, procedures and discipline.

Which is why you need a capability to Assess a person and communicate in the right manner a particular situation to different people. You should be a conversationalist.

This is not to discourage you, But dont want you to regret later after taking a decision.

The other side might be Unless you take up the role, you may not know what you are in for!

All the best to you.

Hi Santhosh
I would suggest you to be as Recuiter(US Operations) if you are performing well and satisfied, there are lot to learn even in recruitment and have a good growth, where as in HR Growth you can't see the growth(both professional and monitary) instantly. Since you need lot of patience as a first qualification, have good interaction with all the employees and the higher management. Though it sounds simple its not an easy job (i'm not saying Recruiting is an easy job!) But you'll get diverted in General HR role.
Think twice b4 u could change your position.
All the Best
