Dear All,

We are IT product development company hold 200 employees. Employee wages with 21,000 and coming under ESI are only 3 employees do we need to register with ESIC?

Hi,

Yes you should.

The ESI scheme is applicable to all factories and other establishments as defined in the Act with 10 or more persons employed in such establishment and the beneficiaries’ monthly wage does not exceed Rs 21,000 are covered under the scheme.

As an alternative if their salary slab is in the boarder near 20k or so then you can hike the same beyond 21,000/- so as to avoid coverage, provided if you are sure you will not hire less salary category employees.
